“I ring at night, when I don’t want to be alone with my thoughts!”
“The Helpline for me is support in a crisis“
Support - Mental Health affects us all and the uniqueness of our Helpline is that it enables people to talk and be heard when they feel it is important.
“They are available at a time when you are most anxious – a friendly voice is just what you want to hear!”
The Helpline offers a warm and caring service, providing emotional support, reassurance and encouragement and has the ability to be there whenever there is a need, query or crisis.
“I can discuss anything with them in confidence and talk things through and then I don’t feel so bad about things anymore.”
We listen in confidence without judging you and create a welcoming atmosphere where you can talk through issues, or concerns about yourself, family and friends.
“The staff were Calm, Reassuring, Open minded and supportive”
All staff who work on the Helpline have completed extensive training in mental health awareness, core and advanced Helpline skills training, counselling skills, self harm, sexual abuse and disclosure along with more specialised training in different areas of mental health.
“For me it support at the end of a telephone that I know I can rely on. Just talking things over has sometimes been all the help I have needed”.
“The Helpline helped me, it stopped me from killing myself”
